Meet Our Federal Employment Law Attorneys
Have Questions? We Have Answers.
How quickly can I speak with an attorney?
Federal employment matters move fast. Most consultations are scheduled within 24 to 48 hours of your initial contact. If you are facing an immediate deadline, such as an MSPB filing window or EEOC counselor contact requirement, let us know when you reach out, and we will prioritize your case.
How much does federal employment representation cost?
Our fee structure depends on the matter. Some cases are handled on an hourly basis, others on flat fees, and certain matters may qualify for alternative arrangements. We discuss fees transparently during your consultation, so you know exactly what to expect before any engagement.
Do you represent federal employees outside Washington, D.C.?
Yes. We represent federal employees nationwide. Federal employment matters involve federal law and federal forums like the MSPB and EEOC, so geography rarely limits representation. We have experience across civilian agencies, the VA, and DOD civilian workforces throughout the country.
What if I am not sure I have a valid claim?
Federal employment law is complex, and many employees do not realize they have viable claims or appealable actions. We will evaluate your situation honestly. If you do not have a case, we will let you know.
How long do I have to act?
Federal employment deadlines are strict and unforgiving. Missing a deadline can eliminate your rights entirely. Common filing windows include:
- EEO complaints: Contact an agency EEO counselor within 45 days of the discriminatory action or personnel action
- MSPB appeals: File within 30 days of the effective date of the action or receipt of the agency decision, whichever is later
- Whistleblower complaints: File with the Office of Special Counsel before pursuing an IRA appeal
- IRA appeals: File within 65 days of OSC’s final notice, or after 120 days of OSC inaction
- VA § 714 actions: Shorter deadlines apply for certain VA adverse actions
Early legal review is essential. Contact us today if you are unsure of your deadline.
Will my agency find out I contacted an attorney?
Your consultation with us is confidential. We do not notify your agency or employer that you have reached out. Attorneys owe duties of confidentiality to prospective clients under the rules of professional conduct, and full attorney-client privilege attaches once we are formally engaged. Many federal employees consult with counsel before deciding whether to take formal action.
What happens during the consultation?
We structure every consultation to give you clear, useful information. During your call, we will:
- Listen to your situation and ask targeted questions
- Identify the legal issues and applicable forums
- Flag any deadlines you need to meet immediately
- Explain the process and likely timelines for your matter
- Discuss the fee structure if we are a good fit to help
- Tell you directly if we are not the right firm for your case
